Kayoko Fukushi

29km - 2:02. 15min easy, 22min fartlek (1,2,3,4,3,2,1min efforts with 1min floats), 5min easy, 20min threshold, 60min. On The Bay in the rain again.

Talking about tough athletes, check out Kayoko Fukushi. This is at the 16km mark of the 2008 Osaka Marathon, way in front of a world class field.

This is the finish, she is now dead last in 19th place and the rest of the field have finished. She has had a disastrous race, is the 5x Japanese 5000m Champ and World 15km Record Holder. She has nothing to prove but forces herself to finish, true champion!

She is racing at Stanford this weekend, same meet as Benny Saint. Check out the deep fields:-
