Ponting

9km-41:30 to Wenty Park + strength in the morning.

3km easy, 12km hard (3:48km's), 3km's easy, around The Bay in the arvo. Last easter I couldn't break 40min for 10km in my first up tempo, so pleased to be well ahead of last year. The goal session is to run 30km's at 3:45km's five weeks prior to Gold Coast, happy enough with the start. Came across the wanker on the bike twice again today. He mouthed off both times, swerving at another pedestrian on the second lap, it's time to knock him into the shark infested bay.

Ricky Ponting resigned as captain today and fortunately has decided to bat on, i'm sure to the relief of the new captain. I can't believe the criticism of our most successful ever captain and by far our best batsman and fielder at the moment. Not surprisingly, those most critical seem to be lazy, unco, chicken shits that would never have the guts to stand behind the line of the new ball let alone have any concept of how fortunate we are to have witnessed such a great cricketer.

  1. Surely Waugh was the most successful? How are you measuring this? I want raw data.

Nice tempo mate. BTW, the blog has gone viral. I've made sure of that.

  2. Nice to have you visit my blog Tom, i am honoured.

Ponting has considerably more wins than Steve Waugh and a better percentage when they had teams of comparable ability. I was rating Ponting's success purely on total wins, which is greater than any captain in the history of world cricket.

In my opinion Tubby Taylor is the best skipper in the 30ish years i've been following cricket.

I find it hard to judge Waugh's captaincy, unlike Ponting leading from the front, he batted 5 throughout his captaincy. It's not that hard to toss the ball to McGrath, Warne or Gillespie when you need a wicket. Nothing against his captaincy, just think a witches hat could captain a team that included Hayden, Ponting, Waugh, Waugh, Martyn, Gilchrist, Warne, Gillespie and McGrath.

  3. Hey Tiger, I'm with Tom here sorry, I agree that Ponting has the figures on the board, but i honestly believe he is the WORST captain i have witnessed since i been following the game. The way he rants and raves when things aren't going his way is not what captains are all about.Bet you never saw Tubs or Waugh react that way?
Welcome to the Blogspot as well, look forward to the year ahead and the banter that goes with it:)
    Cheers

  4. Chlorine must be harmful. Ponting always led from the front and always put the team first, the other bloke batted at five and was more invested in not outs than quick runs when batting with the tail. Ponting finishes with the most wins ever in history, Waugh's legacy is that he made everyone wear the same hat. Pathetic symbol of juvenile unity...ra ra ra, we love each other, we all have the same hat on. Ponting made history, Waugh gave his team mates skin cancer.
